Stories: Walter Alfred Mewis: Not a lot is known about Walters service other than that it was reported by his Captain he was hit by a shell and died instantly. He was the youngest of four brothers, all who served. Edwin was an MP. William was wounded early on, but re-enlisted in the Labour Corps, only to be again discharged due to ill health. Arthur was also wounded in early 1916 and took no further part in the war.
