  Notes	Blanche's father, Thomas Henry Salmon was born 1865. Thomas Henry Salmon married Blanche Buttery (1864 - 1890) in 1886 and they had 3 children Francis (Frank) Edwin Salmon, Harold Bamford Salmon, and Blanche. It seems likely that Blanche Salmon (née Buttery) died in childbirth aged 26, leaving Thomas Henry Salmon with 3 children under 4. His mother died a few months later and in 1891 Thomas Henry (widowed) was with his father Thomas (widowed) and the oldest child Francis E (aged 3). The 3 children were brought up in different households and both boys joined the army in 1904. 1901 census - staying with William and Edward Upton and relationship recorded as foster sister [8]
